Standing Beside Flood-Affected Communities

In response to the ongoing flood situation in Chattogram, Shurokkha conducted a day-long humanitarian assistance programme on 10 July 2026 in Wards 24, 39 and 41 of Chattogram City.

Meals Distributed to Nearly 300 People

Through the dedicated efforts of Shurokkha volunteers, one cooked meal was distributed to nearly 300 flood-affected people. Despite waterlogged roads and difficult conditions, volunteers reached affected neighbourhoods and delivered assistance directly to vulnerable families.

Programme Inaugurated in Ward 24

The humanitarian assistance programme in Ward 24 was inaugurated by the Honourable Member of Parliament for Chattogram-10, Mr. Sayeed Al Noman. He appreciated Shurokkha’s timely initiative to support people affected by the flood.

Call for Collective Humanitarian Action

During the inauguration, the Honourable Member of Parliament called upon people from all professions and sections of society to stand beside vulnerable communities during times of disaster. He emphasised the importance of collective participation by public institutions, social organisations, volunteers and citizens.

Financial Support from Shurokkha Members

Several respected members of Shurokkha provided financial contributions to support the programme. Their assistance made it possible to prepare and deliver emergency meals to affected communities within a short period.

Dedicated Efforts of Volunteers

Shurokkha volunteers worked throughout the day despite waterlogged roads, difficult access and challenging weather conditions. They supported food transportation, identified affected families and delivered meals directly to households.
