Shurokkha works to build greener, safer, and more resilient communities through climate adaptation, tree plantation, environmental awareness, waste management, and community-based environmental action.
Programme Overview
The Climate Resilience & Environmental Protection Programme aims to strengthen the ability of vulnerable communities to respond to climate change, reduce environmental degradation, and implement locally appropriate and nature-friendly solutions. Through community participation, evidence-based planning, and partnerships, we work to build long-term environmental resilience.
Why This Programme Matters
Climate change, heatwaves, cyclones, floods, salinity, land degradation, deforestation, air pollution, and unmanaged waste increasingly threaten health, livelihoods, and safety. Without timely local adaptation, environmental protection, and awareness, these risks will continue to grow.

Climate Adaptation
Identifying local climate risks and developing practical, community-based adaptation plans and solutions.
Tree Plantation & Greening
Planting and maintaining trees with communities, schools, and local partners to expand green cover.
Waste Reduction & Management
Reducing plastic use, promoting waste separation, recycling, and cleaner community environments.
Environmental Awareness
Raising awareness among youth, students, families, and communities on environmental protection and climate action.
Natural Resource Protection
Promoting sustainable use and protection of water, soil, biodiversity, and local natural resources.
Community Climate Leadership
Creating leadership opportunities for local leaders, volunteers, youth, and women in climate and environmental action.
Our Approach
We combine community risk assessment, environmental education, tree plantation, volunteer engagement, climate adaptation planning, waste reduction, and partnership-based environmental action. We prioritize collaboration with educational institutions, local government, youth groups, businesses, research organizations, and development partners.
Expected Impact
Improved awareness of climate risks, stronger environmental behaviour, increased green cover, reduced waste, enhanced local adaptation capacity, and greater long-term environmental resilience.
Nationwide Tree Plantation Campaign
A collaborative initiative to plant 5,000 trees across Bangladesh by engaging communities, educational institutions, businesses, volunteers, and development partners.
