Disaster Risk Reduction, Preparedness & Emergency Response

Programme Overview

The Disaster Risk Reduction, Preparedness & Emergency Response Programme aims to strengthen the capacity of vulnerable communities to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters. Through local risk analysis, preparedness planning, volunteer capacity building, early warning, and coordinated emergency response, we work to reduce loss of life, livelihoods, and assets.

Why This Programme Matters

Bangladesh is exposed to cyclones, floods, waterlogging, landslides, fires, heatwaves, and other natural and human-induced hazards. Gaps in preparedness, limited access to information, weak infrastructure, and delayed emergency assistance increase the impact on vulnerable households. Effective preparedness and local leadership are essential for saving lives and enabling faster recovery.
