Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Initiative
In strategic partnership with Professional Consultation Centre (PCC), Shurokkha is working to expand community-based mental health awareness, psychosocial support, referral pathways, capacity building, and humanitarian MHPSS interventions.
Project Overview
Shurokkha’s Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Initiative aims to expand access to inclusive, culturally responsive, and evidence-based mental health support for vulnerable and underserved communities. The initiative was formally launched through a Memorandum of Understanding signed with Professional Consultation Centre (PCC) on 15 July 2026.
Why This Initiative Matters
Mental health needs often remain unaddressed because of stigma, limited awareness, lack of services, and reluctance to seek support. Timely awareness, basic psychosocial support, safe referral, and linkage with specialized services are essential for improving the wellbeing and resilience of individuals, families, and communities.
What We Aim to Achieve
- Increase community awareness and reduce stigma around mental health.
- Expand access to basic psychosocial support for vulnerable populations.
- Strengthen effective and confidential referral pathways to specialist mental health services.
- Build MHPSS capacity among volunteers, teachers, health workers, and community leaders.
- Provide mental health and psychosocial support during humanitarian crises and emergencies.
- Expand partnerships with government agencies, development partners, CSR initiatives, and community institutions.
