His expertise includes emergency response, refugee health operations, health systems strengthening, community engagement, policy development, and stakeholder coordination.

Z M Sajjadul Islam

Development and humanitarian professional with more than 26 years of experience, including work with UNDRR, UNDP, UNCDF, UN Women, and WFP. His expertise includes climate risk-informed planning, disaster risk governance, climate adaptation, and multi-hazard early warning systems.

Technical Advisor — Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

Dr. Abul Saleh

Medical Doctor and MHPSS specialist with over 35 years of experience in the UK healthcare system and international humanitarian settings. Expertise in counselling, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, staff well-being, and organizational capacity development. A pioneer of Religio-cultural Therapy (RCT) and Intensive Therapeutic Communication (ITC), with extensive experience supporting multicultural communities and vulnerable populations through culturally responsive mental health approaches.

Dr. Quazi Afzal Hossain, PhD

Over 30 years of experience in environmental management, sustainable agriculture, and livelihood development in Bangladesh and internationally. Expertise in Farmer Field School (FFS), Farmer Business School (FBS), integrated farm management, and community-based extension, supporting resilient, climate-smart, and market-oriented livelihoods for farming communities.

Advisor — External Relations & Government Liaison

Md. Shakwhat Hossain

A Mechanical Engineering graduate with extensive industry and corporate experience, including roles with Arena Composite and Spinning Industries and Fairytech Private Limited, where he served as Manager of Services representing foreign enterprises in Bangladesh. He has worked closely with the Ministry of Industries and its associated organizations, City Corporation, CDA, WASA, and other government agencies, providing advisory support on mechanical and civil engineering projects. His experience in ESG, industrial compliance, government coordination, stakeholder relations, and industry networks will support Shurokkha in strengthening institutional partnerships and external engagement.
